Highlights, 11th of August 2023
From August 03 to 11, 2023, 20 young people between the ages of 16 and 18 gained unique insights into state-of-the-art research laboratories as well as Wyss Zurich projects and start-ups.
At the IREM Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Zurich, participants received introductions to a wide range of research topics and were able to independently conduct (partial) experiments, for example:
At ETH's Neural Control of Movement Lab they attended exciting demos from the field of neuroscience - How does the brain control behavior? Which non-invasive interfaces exist and can still be developed?
At the Wyss Zurich Regenerative Medicine Platform, there was an impressive demonstration of the hygiene and protective measures required for working in clean rooms. And how clean is really clean?
The presentation of the Wyss Zurich projects MUVON and Liver4Life gave the young people an understanding of what it takes to bring medical technology research into practice - and to the patients.
During the camp, there were also various inputs and sessions on BioMed Entrepreneurship and the participants worked in groups on entrepreneurial projects, which they impressively presented to their friends and family members in a 3-minute pitch at the end of the camp.
